Bio:
I taught preschool for ten years before returning to college to acquire my teaching license. I joined the Belle Plaine Community School District in 2008 as a special education teacher. I have attended Marshalltown Community College, Buena Vista University, William Penn University, The University of Northern Iowa, and Morningside University. I currently hold a Master of Arts in Education with endorsements in Reading and Special Education. While teaching can be challenging, it is also very rewarding to see students grow and thrive each year. I truly enjoy supporting students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and find the work very rewarding. I am committed to getting to know my students and assisting them in meeting their academic goals, teaching them to value learning, and become responsible, productive citizens. My husband, Jeremy, and I live at Holiday Lake. We have two boys, Kameron studied at Kirkwood Community College and now works at Cub’s Automotive in Brooklyn and Jamos attends BGM. We have three dogs, Bo, Zeus, and Red, and four cats, Bear, Lucy, Ava, and Pig. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching Jamos play baseball, being on the farm, trout fishing, sewing, coloring, and crafts.
