I graduated from J.D. Darnell high school in Geneseo Illinois 1984. Then I attended Western Illinois University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement Administration. I then Joined the United States Army and served from 1989-1992 as a military intelligence soldier. Upon discharged my wife Toni and I moved to Yuma Arizona. While there I trained as a prison guard, worked as a part-time firefighter, and worked as a probation officer for the Cocopah Indian tribe. I then attended classes from many colleges and universities Earning a Teaching degree from the University of Phoenix. I then taught in Yuma Arizona from 1995 – 2001. During that time, I also coached High School wrestling, High School football, from 1997-2001 and Junior College football at Arizona Western College from 1995-1996. We then moved to Fairfield Iowa and worked at Ottumwa High School as a Social Studies teacher, department chair and coach from 2001-2022. I then became an Assistant Principal at Ottumwa High School from 2022-2023. During this time, I earned a Master of Art’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction as well as a Master of Art’s degree in school Administration and Supervision. We then left from 2023 - 2025 to live in England and teach for the Department of Defense schools at RAF Lakenheath Air Force base. Now we are here in Belle Plaine and hope to become long-time members of the schools and community.
