My name is Jay McMillin, and I am excited to be the new 7-12 Social Studies teacher at Belle Plaine. I will be teaching 7th grade Current Events, 8th grade Social Studies, High School World History, and Government. In addition to teaching, I’m also proud to be joining the football team as an assistant coach.

I graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 2021 and went on to attend the University of Northern Iowa, where I earned my degree in Social Studies Education. In my free time, I enjoy golf, sports, movies, and traveling. I look forward to using these interests to connect with my students and make our classes engaging and relevant. My goal is to inspire and help students develop a deep, meaningful understanding of social studies topics.
