BP vs North Tama Football - 8/27/21

On Friday, August 27, 2021, Belle Plaine took on North Tama in the season opening football game at home on Douglas Field. It was a hard fought game but unfortunately, the Plainsmen came up short and lost 14-31.
Ben DeMeulenaere led the Plainsmen on offense. He completed five of his eleven pass attempts for a total of sixty-seven passing yards. He was also the team’s leading rusher with sixty-seven rushing yards on twelve carries. Jeremy Reineke added thirty-seven rushing yards on ten carries with a touchdown. Connor Timm had twenty-six yards on eleven carries, Ty Alcott had twenty yards on nine carries. Cejay Mumby led the Plainsmen in receiving with thirty-six yards on two receptions followed by Gavin Ward who hauled in two catches for twenty-five yards.
The defensive duties were spread around. Timm led the Plainsmen in tackles with a total of four. Jack Schwenn and Chase Wickwire added three and a half tackles each. Alcott and Jax Stamp added three and two tackles respectively.
The Plainsmen hope to bounce back strong in their next game. They will take on the Madrid Tigers at home on Friday, September 3. Come on out and cheer your Plainsmen to victory!
