Friday, September 3, the Belle Plaine Plainsmen go up against the Madrid Tigers. Both Madrid and Belle Plaine started this season off with a non district loss. Belle Plaine to North Tama, and Madrid to Woodward-Granger. Leading the team in receptions, rush yards, and passing this year, senior back Matt Fuller, and senior quarterback Brady Leonard could not come up with a win last week losing 33 to 0. Madrid looks to improve this season from winning 3 games last season.
Belle Plaine came off last season with a 6 win season with Luke DeMeulenaere leading the team in rushing. This season the Plainsmen look to do better. Senior quarterback Ben DeMeulenaere, and junior running back Connor Timm lead the team in rushing yards. Connor Timm also leads the team in total tackles with 4. Belle Plaine looks to get a win this week defeating Madrid at home.
