Election Day 11/2/21

J. Jacobi

Election Day came to Benton County on November 2nd. One of this Election Day’s highlights included two candidates battling each other for city council. Jacki McDermott and Lyle Morrow were going head to head this year and the contest was not particularly close. 56% of the majority votes went to Lyle Morrow and 44% of the votes went to McDermott.

Another important component of this election was voting for Belle Plaine School Board members. Val Coffman and Rima Johnson have been reelected to the board and we congratulate them on their hard fought battle and dedication to our county.  When asked about her reelection, Mrs Coffman had the following thoughts, “I am very pleased to be re-elected to the Belle Plaine School Board for a second term and I thank the community for its support and encouragement. Our Board has set specific goals; we have accomplished several but we have more to do and I am very happy to be part of that work. Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."
